Connections Housing is an adaptive reuse of a 14 story Historic structure (#685) to create a one-stop 75 Permanent Supportive Housing unit/150 Interim Housing bed facility for the Homeless and At-Risk of Homeless in Downtown San Diego, CA
David Billings was hired as a Consultant by the Master Developer of Connections Housing (Affirmed Housing Group) to provide project management services and structure multiple capital financing sources for this very complex multi-dimensional project.
Project amenities in addition to the housing include an 8400 s.f. Health Care Clinic, a 14,000 s.f. PATH Mall for supportive services, dining facilities for 150 persons, administrative offices and storage area.
The sustainable building methods being incorporated into the design and construction included utilizing Photo Voltaic (PV) system on 95% of available rooftop areas to offset portions of common area and resident energy needs.
Low and No VOC paints, glues and adhesives were utilized throughout the project to better protect the environment and residents.
